Prior to 1755, these were the only troops France had in Acadie and New France. The officers were usually Canadiens but the rank and file were recruited in metropolotian France. The officer I have painted as one found in Acadia circa 1690-1710 while the colors are based off of the Louisbourg garrison of 1740.Monday, 26 December 2011
